Stay ahead of threats with a severe weather alert system.
Severe weather and natural disasters can significantly disrupt operations and put your people in harm’s way. As a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, Singlewire Software delivers preparedness best practices and develops solutions that address challenges posed by severe weather and other natural disasters. Whether it’s thunderstorms, tornadoes, blizzards, extreme heat or cold, floods, wildfires, or earthquakes, our weather alert system, InformaCast, provides robust tools to keep your people informed.
Tools to prepare for any severe weather emergency.
National Weather Service Monitoring
Know the moment severe weather approaches with the ability to monitor Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) feeds from the National Weather Service. Using our weather alert system, InformaCast, your organization can configure a geographical area and particular events to monitor. Then, when the CAP feed sends out an alert that matches that criteria, it initiates automated notifications from InformaCast. This helps your organization prepare for approaching weather that may impact safety and ongoing operations.
On-site and Mobile Emergency Notification
InformaCast offers a wide range of on-site and mobile notification options to warn people about severe weather and other natural disasters. Intrusive text, audio, and visual alerts can be sent throughout your buildings to speakers, digital signage, desk phones, and desktop computers. To alert people during off hours about events that may occur overnight, send SMS text, push notifications, and email to mobile devices.
Initial alerts can be sent to a select group of people who decide the best course of action. Then notify the rest of your organization detailing schedule changes, closings, or other relevant safety information.
IPAWS Alerting
During an emergency, you want to have the best possible options available to reach everyone with the information they need to stay safe. InformaCast utilizes the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) to broadcast messages via the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS), which provides public safety officials (federal, state, local, tribal, etc.) with an effective way to alert and warn the public about serious emergencies. Alerts sent to WEA can reach any cell phone within a geographic area. Alerts sent to EAS allow users to set a screen crawl across TV screens for local TV stations. This helps extend InformaCast notifications beyond devices that are connected to the system.
Please note: IPAWS functionality requires FEMA approval to use.
Early Earthquake Warning
During an earthquake every second counts. Our partnership with Early Warning Labs uses the early data from seismic events to alert people of impending tremors before they arrive. Depending on how far someone is from the epicenter, the early warning could arrive anywhere from a few seconds to a minute in advance. When the data is received it can initiate pre-configured InformaCast notifications about the impending event and provide instructions on precautions to stay out of harm’s way.
Complete Incident Management
Letting people know severe weather is approaching is just one step of the process. InformaCast gives your organization the ability to effectively manage every step of your response from the instant severe weather appears to the moment it passes. With access to pre-built and automated alerts, critical resources that facilitate a response, and the ability to gather key stakeholders to assess the situation and make informed decisions, InformaCast provides a complete incident management toolset to minimize the impact on your organization.
